The Commander of Regional Military Operations Command XII / TPR Sends Infantry Battalion 407 / PK as Border Security Task Force to West Kalimantan

(TNI Information Center). The Commander of Regional Military Command XII / TPR, Maj Gen. Muhammad Nur Rahmad as the Commander of the Regional Military Operations Command XII / TPR led the release ceremony of the RI - Malaysia Border Security Task Force of the Infantry Battalion 407 / Padma Kusuma which will carry out operations tasks in the East Sector of West Kalimantan.

 

In a written release delivered by the Liaison Officer of XII / Tpr, Sunday (13/9/2020), the Border Security Task Force who led by Major Inf Catur Irawan, SIP will safeguard the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia in West Kalimantan.

 

Maj. Gen. Muhammad Nur Rahmad conveyed that the implementation of the RI - Malaysia Border Security Operation is in accordance with the article 7 paragraph 2 Law No. 34/2004 of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, concerning the Main Duties of the TNI in Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW), one of which is to participate in securing the national border area.

 

Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Muhammad Nur Rahmad said that along the border land of the Republic of Indonesia - Malaysia, there are a number of various vulnerability of threats such as the shifting border markers, illegal logging, and trans-national crimes which become the concern and responsibility of the TNI to deal with those threats.
