TNI Actively Participates in Preparing Covid-19 Vaccination Specialists

(TNI Information Center). The Covid-19 Vaccination Program becomes an urgent national program. Therefore, the Indonesian Armed Forces plays an active role in preparing the Covid-19 Vaccination specialists through Training of Trainers (TOT) Program. TNI Commander-in-Chief Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, SIP, conveyed the statement in the opening of TOT program for the execution of Covid-19 Vaccination specialists in the TNI, at the Gatot Soebroto Hall TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Thursday (17/12/2020 ).

 

TNI Commander-in-Chief hoped that the TOT would share knowledge and skills of the participants who are appointed to become the specialists Covid-19 Vaccination within the TNI institutions. The readiness and preparedness of TNI health facilities and personnel have to be well-managed to carry out Covid-19 Vaccination and to support government programs in controlling the pandemic.

 

"Vaccination is an effort to prevent dangerous diseases. Vaccines build immunity quickly and effectively. History records the big role of vaccination in saving the world community from suffering, disability and even death due to dangerous diseases,” he explained.

 

Further, TNI Commander-in-Chief also said that according to the Ministry of Health's recommendations, in the early stage, Covid-19 Vaccine would be given to health workers who work directly to handle Covid-19 patients in health service facilities. The next stage of the vaccine will be given to health protocol discipline officers, including the Military and the Police and other public service personnel.

 

Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto reiterated that in order to gain success of the Covid-19 Vaccination, support from all parties/stakeholders are needed which also includes the readiness of the specialists’ personnel to carry out Covid-19 vaccination services. "Apart from that, it is also necessary to provide the necessary facilities and infrastructure, starting from storage, security, distribution to every health facility, as well as the readiness of health facilities for the implementation of vaccination in accordance with applicable regulations," he concluded.

 

The TOT program for specialists Covid-19 Vaccination in the TNI were followed in total 845 personnel, respectively come from various TNI institutions namely Puskes TNI HQ, Army, Navy and Air Force Health Center. Due to Covid 19 strict health protocols, most of participants joined the TOT program virtually, while limited number of participants (45 health workers) were on site.
