(TNI Information Center). The TNI Garuda Contingent (Konga) XXXIX-C Mission de l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour La Stabilisation en République Démocratique du Congo (MONUSCO) Rapid Deployable Battalion (RDB) Task Force was declared ready to be deployed for peacekeeping mission.
This was stated by the Operations Assistant for the TNI Commander-in-Chief Maj. Gen. Tiopan Aritonang, S.I.P. after inspecting the readiness of the total 850 personnel and its combat gears which belong to the TNI Konga XXXIX-C / MONUSCO RDB Task Force led by Col Inf Sandi Kasmidiyanto, at the TNI International Peace and Security Center parade hall, Sentul, Bogor, Tuesday (12/1/2021).
On that occasion, the Operations Assistant for the TNI Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the forthcoming mission which to be carried out by the Konga XXXIX-C / MONUSCO RDB Task Force is an honour and pride. Therefore, every soldier is required to carry out their duties with a high sense of responsibility as they have sacrificed their time, energy, left their beloved families, and even sacrificing their life for the sake of a noble task, he further said.
The Operations Assistant also emphasized that the key success of the mission task lies in the unity between TNI and the local community. “This shall be applied later in the mission area to embrace the hearts of the people,” he suggested.
"Prove and demonstrate to the people that you (soldiers) have the nature of people's soldiers, warriors, professional soldiers as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces as your identity and stick to the MONUSCO Mandate," he added.
At the end of his remarks, Maj. Gen. Tiopan Aritonang, S.I.P. highlighted that to date, TNI soldiers have gain a number of achievements in carrying out their duties as UN peacekeepers. Such prestige is surely honoured Indonesia before the international community.
"I am sure that the TNI Konga XXXIX-C / MONUSCO RDB Task Force could maintain such good achievements and make even better in carrying out its duties", he concluded.
