A total of 186 personnel from the Konga United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Chalk 3 Task Force 2019 under the leadership of Col Inf Leonardo Sebastian arrived in Indonesia after carrying out a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, Wednesday (20/1/2021).
The arrival of the Garuda Contingent was received by the Commander of the Operation Readiness of Peace and Security Center (ORPSC) Col Adm Nanang F. Surya. Subsequently, all task force personnel were dispatched to the Grand Mercure hotel at Kemayoran Jakarta accompanied by a team from the Covid-19 National Task Force to undergo a 5-day quarantine in accordance with the Health protocol compliance.
At the hotel, the task force personnel were greeted by the Commander of the TNI International Peace and Security Center (IPSC TNI) Maj Gen TNI Victor H. Simatupang M.Bus accompanied by the Commander of the Army Regional Military Command Maj. Gen. TNI Dudung Abdurrahman, S.E., M.M.
In front of the media crews, the TNI IPSC Commander said that the tasks carried out by the Garuda Contingent were very full of national missions as these duties were not only related to military aspects, but also political, diplomacy and cultural aspects.
"TNI soldiers who are the members of the Peacekeeping Mission Task Force do not only represent the TNI in particular, but also as the state ambassadors," he concluded.
In addition, the back for good task forces comprised of 172 Indobatt Task Force personnel, two Military Police Unit (MPU) Task Force personnel, a Hospital Task Force personnel and 11 Milstaff Seceast personnel.
