Papuan Dances Perform at Celebration Of Lebanese Armed Forces Anniversary

The Indonesian Garuda Contingent (Konga) Task Force (Satgas) of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) performed the Ujwala Yudha Indobatt Satgas Drum Band, with several archipelago dances including the East Java Condromowo Dance and the Papua War Dance from the FPC Task Force to be the ultimate presentation of the Indonesian Contingent.

This stated by Commander of the TNI Task Force Konga UNIFIL 2019 Col. Inf Aji Mimbarno, S.AP during the celebration of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) / UNIFIL Open Base Day at the LAF Headquarters, Sunday (2019/8/25).

According to him, the drumband and Nusantara dances were received positively by all participants and visitors, including the Lebanese Minister of Defense who also attended.

"With the participation of TNI soldiers, surely we can further introduce the culture of the archipelago to the international world and support the task of world peace in Lebanon by using cultural diplomacy," he said.

Furthermore the Commander said that LAF / UNIFIL Open Base Day is a form of collaboration between LAF and UNIFIL.

"Various countries that are members of UNIFIL and the UNIFIL Work Unit take part, including the Indonesian Contingent which is the largest force in UNIFIL," he said.

"The Indonesian contingent participated in opening an Indonesian exhibition stand by presenting Indonesian culinary and Nusantara clothing," concluded Col. Inf Aji Mimbarno.
