Spider-03 Net Operations Again Attract Community Sympathy in Congo

The Implementation of the Spiders' Net Operations 03 by the TNI Task Force of The Garuda Contingent XXXIX-A Rapid Deployable Battalion (RDB) Mission de lOrganisation des Nations Unies pour La Stabilization en République Démocratique du Congo (MONUSCO) again was able to attract the sympathy of the community, marked by the surrender of 2 AK-47 weapons, 7 rounds of munitions, 7 bows, 5 arrows and various other sharp weapons, from the Ex-Combatant Group Liwa led by Mr. Pierre Luka in Lukengwe Village, 30 Km from Kalemie, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This was said by Commander of the TNI Task Force of The Garuda Contingent XXXIX-A MONUSCO RDB Col. Inf Dwi Sasongko while leading the weapons handover process from the Civil Military Coordination (CIMIC) team to the Disarmament Demobilization Reintegration and Resettlement (DDR / RR) staff Mr. Jeanoot, housed at the RDB Indo Headquarters, Soekarno Camp, Kalemie, Democratic Republic of Congo, recently.

On that occasion it was stated that the surrender of ten people of Ex-Combatant from the Liwa Group led by Mr. Pierre Luka was motivated by the frequent task force personnel carrying out routine patrols and CIMIC activities in the Axis Kalemie area in the direction of Bendera.

It was further said that this was followed up by implementing an intensive approach and communication to Ex-Combatant, the village head and the community who were also attended by DDR / RR staff to produce an agreement to hand over weapons.

Until now, the RDB Indo Task Force has managed to receive 31 weapons from Ex-Combatant as many as AK-47s, 2 Machine Guns, 2 RPGs, 2 Arquebus weapons, 1 grenade, hundreds of bows and arrows.
