KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366 Carried Out Joint Exercise with Hellenic Navy Ship HS Hydra F452

(TNI Information Center). KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, Maritime Task Force (MTF) TNI Konga XXVIII-L / UNIFIL, carried out the Miscex 805 Mailbag Transfer Exercise with the Hellenic Navy Ship HS Hydra F452.


The joint exercise with the Frigate type vessel made in 1991 at the Hellenic Shipyards Co, Scaramagas, Greece was held when the two warships were carrying out patrols in the Area of Maritime Operation (AMO), Mediterranean waters, Lebanon, Tuesday (28/12/2020).


According to the Maritime Task Force Commander Cdr (N) Ludfy, ST, MMDS, the Mailbag Transfer Joint Exercise is indispensable for a task force UNIFIL MTF as it shall increase interoperability and cooperation as well as simultaneously maintaining the professionalism of soldiers in carrying out the UNIFIL's Maritime Interdiction Operation (MIO) mission as in accordance with the UNSCR 1701 mandate.


In the scenario exercise, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366 and the HS Hydra F452 were acting alternately as a receiving ship, carrying out a parallel position approach then performing a delivery of preliminary ropes, distance ropes, and high-lines prior to executing the Mailbag Transfer, which was the primary stage of the exercise.


Overall, the series of exercises were ended up safely and smoothly based on the exercise procedure. Wrapping up the exercise, both warships maneuvered out of formation then headed to their respective patrol sectors.
