(Puspen TNI). TNI Commander-in-Chief Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, S.I.P. chaired the 3rd Philindo MC (Philippines - Indonesia Military Cooperation) 2021 virtually, at Persada Executive Building, Halim Perdanakusuma, Tuesday (25/5/2021).
In his remarks, the TNI Commander said that Indonesia and Philippines will remain interdependent in the field of defence and security due to its geographical position and the growing of South East Asia’s strategic environment.
Marshal Hadi further said that COVID-19 global pandemic has made us all aware of the need to increase cooperation and synergy in handling the impact of COVID-19 which has a very influential effect on domestic affairs of a country.
"Through this honorable forum, I would invite all related parties to discuss steps for a comprehensive partnership in order to produce various collective agreements that would ultimately contribute positively for both countries," said Marshal Hadi.
In a different place, the Chief of Staff of the Philippines Armed Forces, General Cirilito Sobejana stated that as friendly countries of fellow ASEAN members and close neighbors, Indonesia and the Philippines have maintained military cooperation relations and have the same objective of promoting peace, stability and security in the region. Therefore, the Philippines will continue to build cooperation and friendship with Indonesia through good collaboration for future success.
"The ongoing military cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia will continue to be intensified in order to address the challenges of an increasingly complex, dynamic and rapidly changing environment. We will renew our resolutions on how to overcome common challenges, avoid conflict and promote peace, stability and prosperity of the two countries," concluded the top person in the Armed Forces.
The 3rd session of Philindo MC virtually ended with the signing of the Record of Meeting Outcomes between the TNI Commander-in-Chief and the Philippines Armed Forces Chief of Staff.
