TNI Commander Inaugurates Four New Units of TNI in Sorong

Commander of the TNI Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, S.I.P. accompanied by TNI Mulyono, TNI Admiral Ade Supandi, S.E., M.A.P. and the Marshal Air Force Yuyu Sutisna, S.I.P. inaugurated four new units and the change of name of TNI unit in Mako Armada III Sorong, West Papua, Friday (5/11/2018). TNI Commander in his speech said that the inauguration of four new units namely Infantry 3 / Kostrad Division, Fleet Command (Koarmada) III Navy, Pasmar 3 Marine Corps and Air Force Operations Command (Koopsau) III, and the change of name of TNI unit namely Fleet Command RI West Region (Koarmabar) to Koarmada-I and Command of the Eastern Fleet (Koarmatim) to Koarmada-II is part of the TNI plan which has been stated in Presidential Regulation Number 10 Year 2010 and Presidential Regulation Number 62 Year 2016 and 100 Commander Commemorative Program TNI. "With this new TNI unit, the space dimension fulfills the elements of complete kematraan, it is expected to work synergistically and interoperable, to face the threat and to mitigate the problems in eastern Indonesia region quickly," said the TNI Commander. According to the TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, the effort to establish the four new TNI units, has high strategic value and a fairly complex background, due to the development of world military power, especially in Asia is one of the benchmarks in the balance of power, the current military spending in Asia has already surpassed Europe. Furthermore, the TNI Commander said that nowadays there has been a paradigm shift in the development of military strength and capability. European countries are heading towards the perspective of change from the present to the modern in view of the military role that leads to non-combat functions to deal with non-traditional threats. "While Asian countries are experiencing an intellectual path in the opposite direction, towards the military modernization becomes increasingly assertive, especially on maritime forces," he said. On the other hand, TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said that Indonesia with a wide area stretching from Sabang to Merauke, has both geographical opportunities and challenges and gives Indonesia the opportunity to become a maritime axis of the world, as a channel of communication and trade traffic. Achmad Marzuki as Commander of the 3 / Kostrad Infantry Division, Laksda TNI I Nyoman Gede Ariawan, S.E., M.M. as Commander of Koarmada III, Marsma TNI Tamsil Gustari Malik, S.E. as Pangkoopsau III, and Brigadier TNI (Mar) Amir Faisol, S. Sos., M.M. as Commander of Pasmar-3 Marine Corps.
