Indonesian Humanitarian Aid Officially Received by the Fiji Government

Indonesian Humanitarian Aid for Typhoon Harold victims in Fiji was officially handed over by Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia RM Benyamin Scott Carnadi to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Fiji Inia Seruiratu, at Nadi International Airport, Fiji on Friday at 09.00 local time (05/15/2020 ).

On that occasion the Indonesian Ambassador said that the humanitarian assistance that had been handed over was a form of Indonesian state's concern and support for the Fiji government in tackling Hurricane Harold's natural disasters. Hopefully Fiji can handle it well and be able to recover.

Meanwhile Fiji Minister of Defense, Inia Seruiratu expressed her deep thanks for Indonesia's assistance with through long journey. Our hope is that this will further strengthen the ties of cooperation between the two countries that have been well established so far. Send our greetings from the people of Fiji to all the people of Indonesia.

In the future, Fiji wants to build cooperation with Indonesia in the field of natural disaster management, because Fiji considers that Indonesia has a lot of experience in the field. Furthermore, the Fiji government will immediately provide assistance to Fijians affected by Typhoon Harold on Kadavu Island.

After carrying out the humanitarian aid mission, the Hercules C-130 A1318 series belonging to the Indonesian Air Force, carrying 39 Indonesian citizens (WNI), most of them are Indonesian Workers (TKI) in Fiji. The plane took off at 10:30 local time to the motherland.
